Dimensions & Weight

The rpm measures 17.25” in depth, 18.61” in width (19.25" with wall mounts), and 15.7” in height (16" with records in it; the wall mounts are 15.125" tall).

With the drawer fully extended out, the unit measures 30.5" in depth.

The unit weighs ~26.9 lb when empty.

(One batch of records to fill the rpm can weigh up to ~50 lb so make that a total of up to ~77 lb per fully-stocked unit.)

Material

The rpm is made out of powder-coated aluminum and comes in matte black and gloss white finishes.

Installation

Built with individuality and modularity in mind, units can be installed hanging on walls or mounted sitting on flat surfaces. It takes between 15 to 30-minutes to install your first unit with ease. As with any large wall-mounted furniture piece, we recommend professional installation. See our YouTube channel for a video on how to put the rpm together and the manual for mounting tips.

Bottom mount versus wall mount

Choose a bottom-mount unit if you have a platform to securely mount it to that can withstand the ~80 pounds of weight easily and safely.

Bottom mount units are made for sturdy surfaces that allow the unit to extend without the danger of a traditional, loose, shelving system tipping over.*

If this does not describe your environment, then the wall mount units are your rpms of choice as they can be installed on most walls using the correct screws for your particular wall (GRK, toggle bolts, etc).

*If you have a traditional shelf not made to support the weight, you can install the wall brackets for security and have the unit appear as if it were on the shelf.

Perfection!

The Toneoptic RPM fit perfectly into our furniture cabinet. The quality of build and the ease of use is awesome. I just loaded in some albums to try it out, and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a well designed, well built vinyl storage system.

pleased with the product.

Pleasantly surprised after seeing ads for these for the past couple months. Very well built, rock solid piece of equipment. Packaged well, simple to assemble. 4 of them mounted perfectly in the furniture cabinet we modified to accept them... great product!

FAQs

1

How many records does the rpm fit?

Each rpm unit fits 75 (12" or 10") regular-sized records with enough space to breathe and comfortably flip.

Since most reissues these days come in double-sleeve jackets and are pressed on 180gm, we feel 55 to 60 is a more accurate ballpark for a regular collection that includes the occasional box-set outlier and a mixture of double- and single jackets.

Did you know you can also house 7" singles, and create sections, using the two dividers that come with each unit and easily slip into one of 8 slots?

2

What's your warranty?

Quality is key to us at Toneoptic, and we are proud to offer a 2-year warranty from date of receipt of the unit on all rpm products.

The warranty covers the replacement of the unit if it is found to be defective due to faulty materials or workmanship within the 2-year period.

Not covered in our warranty are: Above-average wear and tear; Accidental damage; Damage from external sources such as transit, weather, electrical outages or power surges; Failures caused by circumstances outside of Toneoptic's control; Faults caused by negligent use, misuse, neglect or careless operation of the unit

3

How do you handle returns?

If you received a damaged or malfunctioning item, please contact us so we can get you a pre-paid return label to start the exchange.

If you insured your item via Route at checkout on our site, please follow those prompts instead.

If you receive the unit but you don't enjoy it for whatever reason, we will accept your return within 60 days of receipt of your unit, or units, for a full refund only if the unit is in the same condition and packaging as when received. Buyer pays for shipping.

4

Where can I see an rpm in real life?

5

If I am outside the U.S., will I have to pay a customs charge?

It depends on where you are located. By law we are required to value our items correctly and you are responsible to pay any duties collected by your local government.

fine-tuned to find tunes

70 years later, a true innovation in the way we store and select records.

The record we always skipped because it had a plain spine. The treasures we never saw that had too thin of a side to get discovered by us. The Toneoptic rpm allows you to get lost in the wonderful cover art and find delight in the artful process of selecting the next record to play. We believe there are many design-conscious record collectors who seek an aesthetic way to showcase their vinyl, one which allows them to flip through records while tucking them back in, library style.

It completes the room

Never felt like this before.
